Wally
Erb is a civic-minded citizen protesting higher taxes and policies of a
'spend thrift' city government.
It is time city council is replaced with leaders dedicated to returning
Virginia Beach to the basics of government: Education, transportation,
public safety, and economic growth not supported by corporate welfare.
Wally's philosophy is
listening to and representing the people - not those seeking
corporate welfare at the taxpayer's expense. The council has to
determine if it is going to be a real estate and development agency or
a governing body for Virginia's largest, most popular city.
Wally has put his time and energy where his philosophy is: He served as
the 31st president of the Council of Civic Organizations - an umbrella
group civic leagues dedicated to the betterment of the city.
Wally
served as council-appointed member of the Virginia Beach Parks and
Recreation Commission.
Wally completed 20 years of active service in the United States Navy
and is a decorated Vietnam-era veteran.
He recently retired from Lockheed Martin after 27 years as a Senior
Systems Integration Analyst/System Engineer.
Wally has been known to fill in as guest pastor at his church, St.
Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church. He has served as a member and
legislative liaison to the Southeastern Regional Advisory Council for
the American Lung Association.
Wally
has a degree in Business Administration with certificates in higher
mathematics, workforce management, and statistics.
Wally resides in Arrowhead with his wife of 44 years, Dottie. They have
two children Vicki and Walt who graduated from Kempsville High in 1986
and 1990, respectively. Dottie and Wally have three grandchildren.
Wally
is a 39 year member of the Fleet Reserve Association (Branch 166). A
member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars (Post 392). A social member of
the Roma Lodge No 254.
